Begins at Whangarei, Northland’s regional centre, and follows Whangarei Harbour out to the spectacular volcanic peaks forming Whangarei Heads. |

Cycle over to Taiharuru on the Pacific coast, to a secluded homestay overlooking the estuary. Try some kayaking or go for a paddle in a dinghy. |

Ride down to Pataua, a typical New Zealand beach-holiday spot, and continue on to a picturesque Glenbervie Bed and Breakfast set on volcanic pasture land with attractive dry stone walls. |

Back out to the coast at Ngunguru and over to Tutukaka for lunch at Snapper Rock Cafe. |

Continue along the beautiful Pacific Coast, the energetic can follow a coast track (some of it with bikes on shoulders) or you can take the road around to Whananaki and onto the idyllic Moureeses Bay for the night. |

More back roads follow, skirting the coast to bring you to the finish at the beach holiday town called Oakura. Ups and downs yes - but this trip comes with unparalleled scenery and an intimate taste of Northland’s Pacific Coast. |
